Search continues for missing Northern Kentucky University student last seen in Covington

Authorities in Covington, Kentucky, are asking for the public’s help in locating 22-year-old Murry “Alexis” Foust, a Northern Kentucky University student who has been missing since Monday, April 27.

According to the Covington Police Department, Foust was last spotted in the Latonia neighborhood. Investigators released surveillance images on Friday showing the student walking alone, wearing a dark jacket and T-shirt, loose patterned pants, black sneakers, and a yellow backpack. Police say these images are the most recent confirmed sighting, adding that they are still actively working the case. “Concerns for their safety have arisen, and your input could be crucial,” officials said.

Foust, who attends NKU’s School of the Arts, was reportedly on their way to class from the Over-the-Rhine area of Cincinnati around 5:30 p.m. that evening but never arrived. Friends have shared additional details as concern grows. One friend said Foust’s car was found parked about a block from their apartment in Latonia, while their cellphone was discovered inside the residence. A bag believed to belong to Foust was later located on NKU’s campus. Police have not publicly confirmed these specifics.

Loved ones say the disappearance is out of character and deeply troubling. “There is not a trace of Murry anywhere, and their friends, family, and one of my best friends, who is their partner, are all very worried,” a friend shared online. “At this point, it is crucial we begin spreading the word and searching for them.”

Another friend echoed that sentiment, describing the situation as shocking. “Murry wasn’t a person who seemed like they were at risk of just suddenly getting up and leaving. Just last week, they were messaging me about how we should trade more art because I wanted to buy a piece of work from their show, and instead of just money, they wanted art from me too. Because if you were a fan of them, they were a fan of you too,” they said. Friends also noted that Foust takes medication and has documented mental health conditions, heightening fears for their well-being.

Northern Kentucky University acknowledged the situation and said it is assisting authorities. “Our thoughts are with their family, friends and all those impacted,” the university said in a statement.

Foust is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, with brown eyes and shoulder-length black-dyed hair. They also have several tattoos, including a geometric striped design on the elbow, a ram skull on the upper arm, and an image of a crucified Jesus Christ on one shin.

Police urge anyone who may have information about Foust’s whereabouts to call 911 or 859-292-2234.
